The self-produced debut album, ‘Difference & Repetition’ is the result of two years of writing and recording and features a host of guest musicians. The record charts a course through changing times and repeated patterns, both personal and cultural. From the opening track, ‘Northridge ‘94’ - which takes the earthquake that hit Los Angeles in 1994 as a lens to explore the death of the American dream; to ‘Fukuyama’s Last Man’ - which imagines the protagonist of Francis Fukuyama’s ‘End of History’ narrative as a satisfied but bored jet-setter; and ‘Mock-Tudor’ - a personal journey of suburban nostalgia, featuring a Goldeneye ‘64 game cartridge, this is a complex and multi-layered record that gradually reveals its many colours.
